Solidarity is at the heart of everything we do as a union. Our commitment extends beyond national borders to support colleagues and sister organizations across the globe.
One way we put this into action is through our Solidarity Fund, which finances international development efforts focused on professional development, trade union rights, human rights, and social justice.
As a member of the European Union, Sweden is actively involved in cross-border cooperation. This requires strong partnerships and ongoing collaboration with professional associations and union colleagues throughout Europe. Akademikerförbundet SSR is an active member of EPSU – the European Federation of Public Service Unions – where we serve on the executive board and in various standing committees.
Our engagement goes beyond Europe. We are also members of PSI – Public Services International – and are represented on its executive board, as well as in several of its committees and global networks.
In addition, we are affiliated with the International Federation of Social Workers (IFSW) and are proud members of the International Council on Social Welfare (ICSW), further strengthening our global connections and influence.
